Background and experience
As one of only a few of US patent lawyers in The Netherlands, Coraline Haitjema is in unique position to help clients with international intellectual property issues. Coraline started her career in the United States, working for a boutique IP law firm helping solo inventors and Fortune 100 companies alike apply for, prosecute, maintain and enforce patents and trademarks. Thereafter, Coraline worked for five years in a large international law firm in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Working side-by-side with European patent attorneys and lawyers on various intellectual property prosecution and litigation cases, Coraline Haitjema developed a deep understanding of cross-jurisdictional and cross-cultural intellectual property issues.
Coraline Haitjema focuses in counseling clients in procuring and maintaining intellectual property portfolios and advising on intellectual property matters. She has worked with clients in this capacity in the life sciences, (bio)chemical, nutraceutical, personal care, bio-energy, agricultural, and software industries. Having trained as a patent attorney, she has extensive experience drafting and prosecuting patent applications. Additionally, being a lawyer, she has coordinated various aspects of U.S. litigation for European clients, as well as advised on licensing and sale of patent portfolios.
Coraline Haitjema is admitted to the United States Patent Office as well as the State Bar of Arizona and is a U.S. patent attorney.
